A native of Music City, USA, Jordan Morgan transplanted to Texas to pursue her Masters of Sacred Music under the direction of the fabulous Dr. C. Michael Hawn at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. Her undergraduate degree is in music education with specialization in voice from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, where she studied with Dr. Karen Kenaston-French. She is Orff-certified and is an active member of AOSA and TMEA.

Jordan fulfills her calling of music ministry through serving Title 1 public schools as their elementary music specialist. She currently is in Houston ISD’s Pilgrim Academy, which is a PreK-8th grade campus with 100% of the student population underserved; 95% of the campus is Hispanic, and of that group, 80% are Guatemalan. Her school choir meets 3 days a week before school and boasts 120 3rd-5th graders and middle schoolers.

Jordan met her husband, Preston, when they were both at Perkins. Preston is the senior pastor at West University UMC in Houston where Jordan sings in the choir, plays handbells, and leads the children’s choir. They have two children, Abigail (10 years old) and Ephraim (7 years old) and two very old and adorable doggies, Clara and Chloe.
